Bookings, meetings and a trip to the big city

It’s going to be a busy couple of days.  Tomorrow is the first annual meeting of Love Loch Lomond, our still new-ish tourist association, and we’re looking forward to meeting people 12 months on and hearing how things are progressing.  We won a seaplane ride in a raffle at the grand launch event last year … I don’t imagine that’s likely to happen again though!

On Friday we’re off to Glasgow to the Country Living Fair at the SECC.  We have a new Shepherd’s Hut to buy accessories for.  Any excuse for ‘research’!  Elspeth Gardner, who made the place settings we use in our guest dining room, very kindly sent us complementary tickets for this.  I expect this means I’m about to be told we therefore have extra spending money when we get there.

Finally, on Friday evening, we have guests, which is by no means guaranteed at this time of year.  We’re welcoming a family, so we will be doing our usual furniture moving trick to make sure the room is safe and comfortable for small children as well as mum and dad.

By the way … we have already sold two nights in The Shepherd’s Rest, which is the name for our new shepherd’s hut.  West Highland Way visitors seem intrigued with the idea of staying in a shepherd’s hut during their walk.  As of right now, we’re confident this is the only shepherd’s hut available for B&B anywhere on the West Highland Way, anywhere in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and quite possibly anywhere in Scotland.  So if you want to come almost glamping, except with a mouth-watering home cooked Scottish room service breakfast served to you each morning, give us a call!
