While we hoped for a doubling of our business over last year, seeing as we now have a shepherd’s hut as well as our double room, we certainly couldn’t have hoped for things to turn out quite as well as they have done.
We have just come through the busiest period of our year, the eight weeks or so from mid-April to mid-June when most people want to walk the West Highland Way. During that entire period, we can count very few days indeed when we had nobody staying here at all. In fact, in mid-May we took to turning a few bookings down just so we had a chance for a day off!
Throughout that period we also continued to receive enquiries from travellers wanting a room for the night that we had to turn down not because we wanted a night off but because we have been almost fully booked the entire month. In short, 2012 has so far been a very, very busy year on the east lochside. And it’s not over yet! After a brief lull, we’re now taking lots of enquiries for the main summer holiday period. If you’re visiting the area this summer, book your accommodation quickly before it’s gone.
